Personal information is any information about you which can be used to identify you. This includes information about you as a person, your devices, and even information about how you use a Site.

In the event our Site contains links to third-party Sites and services, please be aware that those Sites and services have their own privacy policies. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect or use any personal data from online visitors under the age of eighteen. We do not knowingly allow visitors under the age of eighteen to participate in any promotions or contests made available on our Sites from time to time. If we discover or are notified that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete that information from our systems.

How Long We Keep Your Personal Information

We retain your Personal Information only for as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with our legal obligations.

Wessuc will maintain confidentiality of all Personal Information collected and will not sell, transfer or otherwise disclose any of your Personal Information to any third party without your knowledge and consent except for purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice.

We may share your Personal Information with third-party service providers for processing and storage, including:

• service providers responsible for administering marketing and promotional activities on our behalf;
• service providers we contract with to develop and deliver education programs, continuing education programs, examinations, and related services; and
• service providers that help with our operations and Site, including, without limitation, examination, and related services, for customer services, monitoring and analyzing Site activity, and operating and maintaining the Site.

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.

We may share your Personal Information with our affiliated corporation, the Shire Corp. to support its internal business activities.

Only Wessuc’s, our affiliates and our service provider’s employees with a business need to know, or whose duties reasonably so require, are granted access to Personal Information that we are accountable for. All such employees must, as a condition of employment, contractually respect the confidentiality of your Personal Information.

If we or our assets are acquired, or in the unlikely event that we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, we would include data, including your personal information, among the assets transferred to any parties who acquire us. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any parties who acquire us may, to the extent permitted by applicable law, continue to use your personal information according to this notice, which they will be required to assume as it is the basis for any ownership or use rights we have over such information.

From time to time, we may disclose your Personal Information to third parties under the following limited circumstances:

• to meet our certification mandate;
• to provincial government agencies or authorities that regulate, oversee or enforce title protection legislation, in order to fulfill our obligations as a credentialing body, verify the status or eligibility of our Certificants or candidates, support the maintenance of a public registry, to cooperate with inquiries, or to comply with applicable laws or orders;
• when necessary to protect our safety, property or other rights, our affiliates, customers and users of the Site, including to detect and prevent fraud; or
• with your consent; or
• when otherwise required or permitted by law.

We will disclose Personal Information without your knowledge or consent if we receive an order, subpoena, warrant or other legal requirement issued by a court, tribunal, regulator, or other person with jurisdiction to compel disclosure of your Personal Information.

International Transfers of Personal Information

The personal information we collect is stored and/or processed in Canada, or where we or our partners, affiliates, and third-party providers maintain facilities.

The countries to which we store, process, or transfer your personal information may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information. Cookies, Web Beacons and Other Similar Technology

Zoho PageSense

Our Site uses Zoho PageSense, a web analytics service of Zoho Corporation (“Zoho”), or comparable technology. Zoho PageSense uses cookies to analyze how you use our Site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our Site (including your IP address) is sent to a Zoho server in the U.S. and stored there. f) Right to make a complaint: The right to challenge Wessuc Inc.’s compliance with the applicable Canadian Privacy Laws.

Requesting deletion – you may request that we delete any Personal Information, as defined under PIPEDA, that we have collected from you, provided that we may retain Personal Information as authorized under applicable privacy legislation, including, but not limited to, retaining Personal Information necessary to provide our Services, detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, debug to identify and repair errors that impair our site, enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with your expectations based on the your relationship with us, comply with a legal obligation or otherwise use your Personal Information, internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which you provided it.

In order to submit a request, we will need to reasonably verify your identity. . If you have an account with us that is password-protected, we may verify your identity through our existing authentication practices for your account. If you do not have an account with us, we may request from you two or more data points of personal information to verify your identity.

Email Communications

We comply with Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL), and we will not send you electronic communications in contravention of this law.

We will ensure that each email includes an opt-out feature and instructions on how to unsubscribe if you no longer wish to receive future emails from us. Compliance with PIPEDA’s Ten Principles of Privacy

This privacy notice complies with the PIPEDA’s requirements and ten principles of privacy, which are as follows:

1. Accountability. Wessuc Inc. is responsible for the Personal Information under its control and will designate one or more persons to ensure organizational accountability for compliance with the ten principles of privacy under PIPEDA, whose details are included below. All personnel are accountable for the protection of customers’ personal information.
2. Identifying purposes. Wessuc Inc. identifies the purposes for which personal information is collected at or before the time the information is collected.
3. Consent. Consent is required for Wessuc Inc.’s collection, use or disclosure of personal information, except where required or permitted by PIPEDA or other law. In addition, when customers access a product or service offered by us, consent is deemed to be granted. Express consent may be obtained verbally, in writing or through electronic means. Alternatively, consent may be implied through the actions of customers or continued use of a product or service following Wessuc Inc.’s notification of changes.
4. Limiting collection. Personal information collected will be limited to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by Wessuc Inc..

Limiting use, disclosure, and retention. We will not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which the information was collected, except with your consent or as required by law. We will retain personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for collecting such information and compliance with any legal requirements.
6. Accuracy. Personal information will be maintained by Wessuc Inc. only in an accurate, complete and up-to-date format as is necessary for the purpose(s) for which the personal information was collected.
7. Safeguards. We will protect personal information with security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of such information.
8. Openness. We will make our policies and practices relating to the collection and management of personal information readily available upon request, including our brochures or other information that explain our policies, standards, or codes.
